Sony seems to follow a new trend; releasing a Smartphone in every six months. Sony’s flagship Xperia series has been received cordially by consumers. The success led Sony to keep expanding its Xperia series. Sony has so far released an army of Xperia phones; Xperia X, Xperia Neo, Xperia Acro, Xperia M, Xperia S, Xperia Active, Xperia V, Xperia Pro, Xperia Ion, Xperia P all belong to Sony’s Xperia device lineup.

Xperia-Z3

Sony is all set to release the next Xperia phone; Sony Xperia Z3. A few installments of Xperia Z series have already been introduced. They are Xperia ZR, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, etc.

The release date of Xperia Z3 is not yet announced. And we are totally in dark when it comes to device’s specs. We don’t have much info about the Z3, only rumors and some leaked screenshots. One of those rumors suggests Xperia Z3 will have a metal frame and will be incredibly thin. The thickness could be only 7mm.

According to the source, Xperia Z3 will emulate Nokia 8800. Z3’s body will have a PVD coating and that will offer the Smartphone a mirror stainless steel look. Regular phones which use conventional electroplating are not as corrosion resistant as phones with PVD coating. Another advantage of PVD coating is environment friendliness. The manufacturing process however, is different and requires expertise.

Sony Xperia Z3 Features

Rumors have it that Z3 will have a quad core 2.5 GHz krait 450 processor. Almost all Smartphones released in recent time have 3GB of RAM. Z3 will not be an exception. It is also expected to sport 3GB RAM. The camera features won’t possibly see an upgrade and will have specifications same as Z2. That means Z3 will have 20.7MP camera with 5248 х 3936 pixels with autofocus and LED Flash. These are undoubtedly cool features.

It was earlier claimed that Xperia Z3 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC processor. The process will have four Krait 450 cores running at up to 2.7 GHz along with Adreno 420 graphics chip running at 500MHz. This rumors hasn’t been verified yet. Thus, we don’t have a clue about Z3’s processor and graphics.

A 3700 mAh battery and a microUSB 3.0 are more or less confirmed. Sony is also rumored to equip Z3 with a Wi-Fi dual band. This will enable the handset to be efficient in terms of wireless connectivity. Connectivity is a huge problem for a lot of people. The dual band Wi-Fi may be of great help for them as multiple people will be able to use internet and the speed will be really fast.

Along with improved connectivity, we can expect new and better innovations integrated in Z3, for accommodating bigger memory space compared to that in Xperia Z2.

Xperia Z3 could allow users to multi-task. As the phone is rumored to have the latest quad-core processor, gamers will surely have their payday. The whole game playing experience will be simply awesome. Problem with the dual-core processor is that it gets very slow when more than one tasks are executed. So for example, you are playing a game and at the same time, using a music app. The device will be slow. This is why, most Smartphone manufacturers are moving to quad-core processor.

Xperia Z3 may come with special screen and enhanced quality display. In fact it’s rumored that Sony wants Z3 to eat into the market share of Galaxy Note 4. Note 4 is reported to arrive with 5.9 inch screen and QHD display. The screen will also have In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology. To give Note 4 a run for its money, Sony could make the screen ultra high definition with 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution.

Normally ultra high definition screens are used to accommodate 4K resolution. Therefore, users will enjoy high quality videos on Z3. We already mentioned Z3 will have 20.7MP camera with high resolution. Courtesy to UHD video, they record anything and upload it on video hosting sites shortly, keeping at bay all technical hurdles. So ease at watching is a plus that comes with Xperia Z3.

Xepria Z3 could have TFT triluminos display. It should be mentioned here that triluminos display is a signature technology by Sony. The display technology made appearance in Sony’s Xperia Z Ultra. The phone was released in June 2013 and called as the world’s slimmest full HD Smartphone. Z3 is strongly expected to pack triluminos display which will feature sharp and bright display and prick edges.

This is one area where Sony could surely get an edge as most companies are using TFT and AMOLED displays. Those displays are good but not as good as the triluminos display. Triluminos display could make video watching a treat. Takashi Ozaki, a mobile BRAVIA engineer described triluminos display by saying it lets “enjoying visuals with life-like beauty.” Dust and water resistance are also going to be two important features of Xperia Z3. Both LG G3 and Galaxy Note 4 are rumored to be water-resistant and dustproof. So quite obviously, Sony wouldn’t want Z3 to lag behind.

Sony Xperia Z3 Release Date

The release date of the device is not announced yet. Some sources said the device could be released by this year’s August. This is a bit early as two most sought after devices of this year iPhone 6 and Galaxy Note 4 may in September or October. In last year’s February, Xperia Z was released. It was soon replaced by Xperia Z1, launched in September 2013. Xperia Z2 was unveiled in this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC). So it makes sense if Z3 released in August.

Sony Xperia Z3 Price

There’s no consensus regarding the price of the device. Sources held the price to be near $600. Sony Xperia Z was priced at £549 in the UK. Xperia Z1’s price was £599. The high price was difficult to justify, so Sony resorted to marketing. But even then the sale was below expectation. So Sony made Z2’s price £559. This time the price increase could be justified as Z3 will pack a slew of features with its thin bezels, ultra thin appearance and superior quality display. check out the best phones under 15000 INR.
